DECTA: 605 links from one data-driven campaign
One data-driven campaign on euro-pegged stablecoins after the MiCA regulation earned DECTA 605 links from 284 websites, including Reuters, Forbes and Yahoo.
The links are editorial: they come from articles and pages that cite DECTA's findings. No placement was bought.

Editorial links from news websites
DECTA wanted editorial links from news websites. Editorial means a journalist chose to link to DECTA's findings page in their article. No placement was bought.
Links like these are hard to get. News websites do not sell guest posts, so the only way into their articles is to give a journalist something worth reporting.
How we approached it
We reviewed fintech and payments media to find topics journalists wanted to write about but had no reliable data for. Stablecoins and new regulation came up again and again, but most coverage was opinion, with few hard numbers.
The gap: MiCA had come into effect and the market had had time to respond, yet no published research had measured what actually changed. That gap was the opportunity.
From raw data to a report journalists cite
We ran the whole campaign, from the data to the last link in the report.
Data
We collected the data on euro-pegged stablecoins.
Visuals
We created the charts and visuals for the findings.
Findings page
We built the findings page on DECTA's own website, published as the Euro Stablecoin Trends Report.
Outreach
We ran journalist outreach timed to MiCA regulation deadlines.
Results after one year
One campaign, with results tracked in Ahrefs for a year after launch. No placement was bought.
| What we measured | Result |
|---|---|
| Links earned | 605, about 58% do-follow |
| Different websites linking | 284, about 61% do-follow |
| Campaign | Created once. After outreach, the findings page kept earning links on DECTA's website, and we updated the numbers a year later. |
Do-follow links pass ranking value to the page they point to, so they count most for search rankings.
Ahrefs breakdown by page
The links went to two pages on DECTA's website. These are the numbers Ahrefs reports for each.
| Page | Links | Websites linking |
|---|---|---|
| Findings page | 401 | 197 |
| Second campaign page | 205 | 88 |
Journalists credited DECTA by name
Journalists reported the figures and credited DECTA's findings by name in the body of the article. This is some of the coverage we earned.
